Released off of their second album, Paranoid, 1970 Iron Man is a song written and performed by Black Sabbath. Originally titled Iron ‘Bloke‘ the song bears no resemblance to the Marvel comic Iron Man. The song is about a person whom traveling to Earth’s future witnesses the Apocalypse and upon returning is rendered mute when hitting the magnetic field. Thus unable to warn Earth’s inhabitants of their impending doom. Iron Man is consistently voted as one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

Paranoid is a song written and performed by Black Sabbath. Paranoid appears on their second album appropriately named Paranoid, 1970 and was the first single released from that album. Consistently ranked as one of the greatest hard rock songs of all time, Paranoid performed very well for Black Sabbath. Even after Ozzy Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979 to pursue a solo career, he continues to perform this masterpiece.
