All drum rolls are an essential part of drumming. Great for filling in transitions between musical phrases, easy to incorporate in basic beats, fills and patterns. The Seventeen Stroke Roll is no exception. Although one of the longest drum rudiments and certainly the longest of the recognized P.A.S. International drum rudiments, the Seventeen Stroke Roll can take a significant amount of time and timing coordination before being able to incorporate the rudiment into drum playing.
