Like all of the other drum roll rudiments, the Nine Stroke Roll consists of a series of double strokes followed by a single stroke roll. It is recommended that you only attempt the Nine Stroke Roll after you have mastered the double stroke roll given that the Nine Stroke Roll is primarily composed of double strokes.
