The Flam rudiment is a key drum rudiment when preparing to learn all forty N.A.S. approved drum rudiments. The Flam lends itself well to many forms of music, and is most commonly found in Rock and Roll. The Flam drum rudiment can add both power and warmth to a piece of music. The Flam really consists of two distinct drum hits, with the goal to make a single warm fat sound. This is achieved when one of the drum hits occurs first quickly followed by a second successive hit.
