The Flam Tap is a basic rudiment and one of forty drum rudiments recognized by N.A.S. Basically the Flam Tap consists of a Flam drum rudiment followed by an additional tap or second hit on the drum. Once mastered a Flam Tap can be performed as a solid diddle, so it is important to also master double strokes when thinking of this rudiment. The Flam Tap is also a great rudiment for drum solos and improvisational work.
