The Flam Rudiments consist of two single strokes by alternating hands. The first stroke is a quieter stroke (often called a grace note), which is closely followed by a louder primary stroke from the opposite hand. The two notes are almost played simultaneously and are intended to sound like a broader single note when performed. The Flam Rudiments include:
- Flam
- Flam Accent
- Flam Tap
- Flamacue
- Flam Paradiddle
- Single Flammed Mill
- Flam Paradiddle – Diddle
- Pataflafla
- Swiss Army Triplet
- Inverted Flam Tap
- Flam Drag
